Job Description

The Digital Marketing Assistant Manager will assist with all aspects of marketing and communications for Canada’s Ballet Jörgen,with a primary focus on content generation and digital dissemination for communications related to the World Premiere ofAnne of Green Gables – The Ballet.

This will include:

  • Develop and execute a marketing communications plan for all Anne of Green Gables related e-blasts, social media posts and media releases including story generation and copywriting;
  • Oversee and produce high-quality, comprehensive written content- including impact stories;
  • Manage all company social media platforms including blog, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter- including the collection/tracking of analytics;
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Canada’s Ballet Jörgen website;
  • Maintain a consistent feel with all external messaging across all marketing and communications channels.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Support the Marketing Manager with creation and execution of marketing for performances presented by external stakeholders (Presented shows);
  • Support the Marketing Manager creation and execution of marketing plans for performances presented by Canada’s Ballet Jörgen (Self-Presented shows);

 

Requirements

  • Marketing and communications experience a must;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills a must;
  • Social Media management experience a must;
  • WordPress experience a must;
  • Experience with paid social media advertising preferred;
  • SEO and Analytics expertise a must;
  • Must be highly motivated by the vision and mission of Canada’s Ballet Jörgen to ensure marketing services functions efficiently and effectively to contribute to achievement of strategic goals and objectives;
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and deadline pressure while ensuring accuracy;
  • Experience with InDesign an asset;
  • Comfortable working independently;
  • Knowledge of/background in dance/performing arts an asset;
  • French an asset.

The Digital Marketing Assistant Manager will report to the Marketing Manager and General Manager.

 

Contract Length:

Initial 1 year contract with option for extension/permanent position

 

Hours:

Part-Time

20-25 hours per week

Accompanists will potentially be called upon to play for a ballet class for the company, and/or as a substitute for George Brown Dance classes. This may lead to contracts for regular classes during school terms.

George Brown Dance & Canada’s Ballet Jörgen are seeking a dynamic individual to fill a 3-4 month internship opportunity.  The ideal candidate is motivated and interested in learning about arts administration in the vibrant world of dance and dance training.  The Dance Education intern will work closely with the Program Coordinator in the administration of Ballet Jörgen’s Education programs, with a focus on George Brown Dance.

This position will also give the candidate an opportunity to participate in preparing for productions of shows, as well as events such as auditions, and studio showings. The intern will gain an overview of how a prominent dance company and its programs function, gain valuable work experience, and make connections within the company.

Qualifications

  • A passion for dance and the arts
  • A desire to learn and contribute to the company’s vision of advancing the appreciation of ballet and Canadian choreography through performance, educational experiences and outreach
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Office experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with administration of special events (auditions, studio showings, award ceremony)
  • Assisting with production of shows (opportunities to be involved with show are also possible – i.e. assistant stage manager , front of house)
  • Tracking registration for auditions, programs, etc.
  • Administrative work, e-mail & phone communication as needed
  • Confirming contact information for dance organizations and arts education representatives, in order to maintain database for future promotion of our programs
  • Potentially participating in projects with other departments, depending on interest and availability (Marketing, Alumni Relations, etc.)

Location  
George Brown Dance/ Canada’s Ballet Jörgen is located at George Brown College, Casa Loma Campus

Commitment 
Position entails a weekly commitment of 4-8 hours a week.  Hours are to be determined, based on your availability and schedule- mainly to take place during business hours, but occasional evenings/weekends are also available. Orientation and Training will be given.
