Cinderella – Community Programming – Ballet In The Studio (BITS)

[Toronto, ON – March 17, 2015] Canada’s Ballet Jörgen’s will open two weeks of performing at home in Toronto, as well as the hub community of Hamilton, Ontario. Over the span of these two weeks, the company will perform its celebrated production of Cinderella, in conjunction with a number of community events across both cities. Additionally, an intimate Ballet in the Studio program will also be presented in Toronto.

The Cinderella performances form part of a National Tour that has met with standing ovations, critical praise and full houses across the country. Cinderella will open on Saturday March 21st, and will be followed by a matinee on Sunday March 22nd in Toronto at the Betty Oliphant Theatre. Cinderella will then be performed at Hamilton Place on Thursday March 26th.

The company will give a number of free community presentations called “Ballet 101”, which consists of interactive, easy-to-follow event presentations about ballet and the world of dance. Designed with all age groups in mind, these events are perfect for those looking for fun, engaging activities to involve their families in over the March Break.

Ballet in the Studio allows the audience to watch professional dance from the closest possible vantage point – right in the studio! This is a thrilling opportunity to not only see a variety of ballet pieces from the ballet’s repertoire, but also to witness  the company’s dancers in action up close and personal. Ballet in the Studio will be held at the company’s studios, located at the Casa Loma Campus of George Brown College in Toronto on Tuesday March 24th and Wednesday March 25th.
