[Halifax, ON – 19 October 2016] Canada’s Ballet Jörgen will be coming to Halifax this weekend, Saturday, October 22 and Sunday, October 23, to host a master class and auditions in partnership with George Brown Dance, as well as providing a sneak peak of this season’s Swan Lake through our Ballet in the Studio.

Ballet In The Studio (BITS)

On Saturday, October 22, Ballet in the Studio will be held at the Lillian Piercey Concert Hall – Maritime Conservatory for the Performing Arts, beginning at 7:00 pm. Ballet In The Studio provides a chance to see a professional dance from an arm’s length away. Guests will be exposed to a range of dances, as well as a sample of our 2016-2017 production of Swan Lake.

Tickets: $15-$20 (Workshop participants receive $5 tickets)

Masterclass

On Sunday, October 23, Canada’s Ballet Jörgen and George Brown Dance will be hosting a workshops at the Halifax Dance, Maritime Centre. The full day event will run from 9:00am to 4:30pm and will include classes in ballet, jazz, and CBJ repertoire. The classes will be led by professionals from Ballet Jörgen and George Brown Dance, including CBJ Artistic Director, Bengt Jörgen, principal dancers Saniya Abilmajineva and Hannah Mae Cruddas, and George Brown Dance instructor Stephanie Galpern. Students over the age of 14 will also be given the opportunity to use these classes to audition for CBJ and George Brown Dance programs.

Class Registration Fee: $28 – $72
