Professional accompanists are welcome to apply to Jörgen Dance & George Brown Dance!

Pianists are needed for ballet classes, and George Brown Dance also schedules:

  • Percussionists for modern dance classes
  • Pianists for Vocal and Chorus Repertoire classes
    Accompanists will potentially be called upon to play for a ballet class for the company, and/or as a substitute for George Brown Dance classes. This may lead to contracts for regular classes during school terms.

Professional Dance Teachers are welcome to apply to Jörgen Dance & George Brown Dance!

Teachers are needed for ballet & pointe classes, and George Brown Dance also offers:

  • Hip hop classes
  • Chorus repertoire classes

Ballet teachers will potentially be called upon to teach for the company; all teachers may be asked to substitute for George Brown Dance classes. This may lead to contracts for regular classes during school terms.

Please note that volunteering with Jörgen Dance is an unpaid position.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:  
Under the direction of the Dance Academy Director, the Education Coordinator will provide administrative and organizational support and act as the Company’s representative coordinating Jörgen Dance Academy Programs. The Education Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the logistics, registration and ensuing follow-up communications for the following education programs: Local Participant Programs, Nutcracker Youth Touring Program, Summer Dance Programs, Auditions and the Master Class and Workshop Programs. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Post-secondary education in Dance/Arts and/or Arts Administration 
  • Ability to work with children, youth and adults with confidence 
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)  
  • Experience working on the back-end of websites 
  • Accurate data entry and tracking skills, Excel & Database work, Raisers Edge experience an asset 
  • Able to work with confidential information 
  • Excellent and detailed organizational skills 
  • Pleasant, confident and affable telephone and email manner 
  • Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised 
  • French language and a driver’s license are assets 

 

START DATE 
October 30th, 2023 or earlier if available 

HOURS 
Expectations are 20 hours per week, at 4-5 hours/weekday plus some agreed upon weekend work. The work is in person on site at our George Brown College Casa Loma Campus office and studios. Remote check-ins scheduled for some after-hours work. 

LOCATION 
160 Kendal Ave. – Casa Loma Campus of George Brown College – Toronto, Ontario. 

COMPENSATION 
Compensation is dependent on experience and starts at $17/hr.
