November 19, 2009. Toronto ON. . .George Brown Dance is pleased to announce that the Commercial Dance Studies Program will present its graduation showcase, Come Fly with Me, on Friday, December 4  and Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Toronto Centre for the Arts Studio Theatre.

Each year, Commercial Dance Studies students graduating from the one year, three semester program showcase their talent through choreography set on them by the Faculty of George Brown Dance.  This year’s showcase, Come Fly with Me, will take audiences on a whirlwind worldwide tour of L.A., New York, Vegas, Bangkok, Hawaii and beyond.  Come Fly with Me will be a vibrant evening of dance and music guaranteed to entertain!  As these talented students launch the careers of their dreams in musical theatre, the music industry, and the hospitality industry, the journey begins for the next round of ambitious and creative dance students.  The Commercial Dance Studies program is holding auditions on December 13, 2009 for the 2010 program beginning in January.  (Note:  Students must apply to the program before the deadline passes in order to audition).

George Brown Dance is one of Canada’s foremost post-secondary dance institutions and the only college dance program in Canada.  Formed in 1992 between community partners George Brown College and Ballet Jörgen Canada, George Brown Dance is a unique industry model of post-secondary dance training in Canada.  George Brown Dance provides intensive pre-professional dance training in line with industry standards and offers three programs:  Dance Performance Preparation, Dance Performance Studies and Commercial Dance Studies.  Each of these programs offer intensive technique training, professional development and performance experience, with students benefiting from increased interaction and personal attention from active professionals who are experienced instructors as well as performers.
