Colton trained with Colorado Ballet Society and spent a year abroad studying dance in Singapore. He attended summer programs at Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, Ballet Austin, ABT, The Paris Opera Ballet School, and The Rock School. Colton won first prize at the Denver Ballet Guild in 2012 and 2014 and also competed in the 2018 USA International Ballet Competition where he had the opportunity to work with Alexei Ratmansky and many other master teachers. He also had the opportunity to compete in France in the International Concours de Grasse in 2013 and 2014. Colton has previously danced with Ballet Idaho, State Street Ballet, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, and Eugene Ballet. He has been featured in such roles as Bottom and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Peasant Pas De Deux in Giselle, the Pas De Trois from Swan Lake, Laertes from Stephen Mills’ Hamlet, The Nutcracker Prince in both Peter Anastos and Toni Pimble’s productions of The Nutcracker, and had the role of ‘The Hero’ (Prince Ivan) created for him in Suzanne Haag’s The Firebird. Colton has also performed work by Val Caniparoli, Twyla Tharp, Matthew Neenan, Peter Anastos, Edgar Zendejas, and Stephanie Martinez.
