Kamala-Jean Gopie

Kamala Jean Gopie O. Ont., M. Ed., BA, is a committed supporter of the Arts, especially dance, theatre, music, film and visual art.  She is a retired educator, who for over four decades has volunteered and served on number of boards.  These include the National Ballet of Canada, Obsidian Theatre, Roy Thomson and Massey Hall, Governing Council U of T, United  Way Toronto, Unity Health Toronto and the Jamaican Canadian Association.

As a result of her volunteerism and community work, she has received a number of awards.  The Order of Ontario, YWCA Woman of Distinction, Nelson Mandela Humanitarian Award and Queen Elizabeth 11 Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals are among the honours and recognition.

Kamala Jean believes in giving back and so is always pleased to work with like-minded persons, in activities which enrich the lives of others.
